Abortion: God’s Views

- How does God feel about abortion?
- No verse that says Thou shalt not have an abortion? o God does not address the subject of abortion directly. No opinion is expressed directly
- Instead, He speaks about the unborn child.
- Psalms 139:13-16; 22:10-11; Jeremiah 1:5
- Clearly there is a person at the point of conception.
- God is knitting this person together.
- Eccl 12.7. God gave an eternal spirit into this person.
- The addition of the spirit makes the person alive ▪ When did it enter? At the point of conception.
- How does God feel about shedding innocent blood?
- Prov 6.16-17 o When we decide to end the life of someone that makes us God ▪ We think we have the power to decide.
- God does not give up that Authority.
- And there are consequences to making ourselves God or like God.
- Ask Eve.
- God cares about those who have already had their child removed from them.
- He loves them. o He wants the best for them.
- He can give them a fresh start without any guilt o But He does have a few demands.
- That person must will turn to his ways
