Confession Script

(On the phone with an unknown person)

Hey, John,

What?

So you wanta know about my motorcycle oil, huh. Ok.

It is a full synthetic guaranteed for double the miles of any conventional motorcycle oil. You change your oil about 4K, right? I can wait till about 8k. I can ride most of the summer with only 1 oil change. Saves me money, and saves me headaches.

Ok. Well, good luck. Talk to ya later. Bye

Word of mouth is the best form of advertising. It is advise from someone we value. That is why we visit with friends. It is why we read all the online reviews on Amazon. We are trying to get value for our buck!

Recommending a motor oil is helpful, but when it comes to changes in life, where can we go? Who do we listen to? And why them?

Answers are coming.

Intro

When it comes to improving our lives, we all try to be very careful. That’s good.

In this series of videos you have discovered THE one to listen to. His name is Jesus. He always gets everything right, even when it doesn’t make sense to us. It always works, and life gets better.

Your examination of him may have led to you believe He is all powerful and all wise. And since you believe, you are doing something, you’re active.

You have begun a series of changes in your life. The 2nd video described it as repentance, a reversal in the direction of our life. You are no longer listen to the Devil or Yourself. Now you are obeying Jesus, no matter what he says.

And life is getting better. You are happier. You are more content with less stuff. Greed has changed to Generosity. Anger is more under control. Lies have been replaced with constant, kind-as-possible truth.

As you gain experience at believing and acting on that belief, your confidence in Jesus goes skyward. Up and up.

As you visit among friends, you start talking about how Jesus has guided you to something better that works. It’s natural. It’s easy.

And the Bible calls it Acknowledgement or Confession.

And it is not a once-in-a-lifetime statement. It is an on-going thing that every follower of Jesus is required to do and keep doing. He said, “Matthew 10:32-33  So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven,  (33)  but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.”

Saying the Pledge of Allegiance is SIMILAR. When you say the pledge, you are speaking of your unity with the country. When you acknowledge Jesus as your Lord, You am speaking of your unity with him.

Jesus said it like this. “Matthew 7:21  “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who DOES the will of my Father who is in heaven.”

In the first Gospel Sermon ever preached, recorded in Acts 2, Peter acknowledges his unity with Jesus when he said, “Acts 2:36  Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, ….”

Peter acknowledged. He confessed. He proclaimed his allegiance and unity with Jesus. And Peter kept on confessing for many more years.

Oh, and just to prevent any kind of confusion, this confession is not confessing that you are sinful, or confessing specific sins. This confession is all about allegiance to Jesus, not your wrong doings.

And just so you know, this kind of acknowledgement of Jesus as being both your Lord and the Son of God, this kind of unity with him will start bringing a unique, comforting peace of mind.

And when you are Believing, Repenting, Confessing, you are almost forgiven of all those wrong doings, called sins. But not quite. There is a 4th single, once-in-forever action that MUST accompany these 3 continuous actions. It is in the next video. It is listed below.
